| I
don't feel leasing state property is the way to go. What
will be next? Hampton Beach! or The Flume! The little people
need a place to ski, too. $65 a day at BW is a little much
for the average person living in the North Country. People
who lease offer you everything and deliver little in the
long run. Let's get the real facts and numbers about Sunapee
and what it has done for the state. Also, do we really want
more and more developement. I don't. - Peter
A., Franconia
No!
No! No! No! We do not want to be part of Disney-North!
- Lucy G.
The
effect on the character of Franconia and the surrounding
communities
could be very negative. Do we want an overdeveloped, overpriced,
and overcrowded ski area and community like some others nearby?
- George M.,
Franconia
Would
Sunapee done (sic) all that work if they knew they wouldn't
have been able to build their development?
Now that Bretton Woods is corporate how is their relationship
with local lodging properties and chambers? Will
I ever see this posted..... - Rob A.,

Sounds
good and you'll make a lot of $ if you're a developer!
No one makes money on ski areas, they make money on building
condos and selling land...note the new (high priced) developments
at Loon and Bretton Woods! Is that what you want to happen
in Franconia???
This is a PARK not a RESORT! It is a
Park that belongs to the people of NH.

As
a resident of Mittersill Village, I am deeply concerned
about this bill. Leasing goes hand in hand with development.
I would not like to see Mittersill chalets sold in order
to put up condos and oh yes...why not have a casino!! There's
got to be more to this than meets the eye. Who among the
sponsors owns land and would stand to make a small fortune
if this goes through???
I also do not believe the financial figures. Let's come
clean! The Parks should be separate from DRED. How much
is being siphoned off by DRED??? - Barbara R.,
Franconia
Cannon
give (sic) the NH residents a chance to ski that other wise
(sic) would not. Two for Tuesday and Thursday, Wednesday
NH resident
day. One of the best venues for local High school races,
club races in New England. Sunapee does noting (sic) for
NH residents.
Sunapee - $929 for
a season pass, $1,710 for a kids program, $58 dollars a day for
a little
hill. Yes you can ski OKEMO
/ STRATTON, great idea, let’s send people to Vermont!!
I’d rather go to Cannon.
Yes there are times
that the way Cannon is operated frustrates me but it’s
most likely not the Mountain management making the questionable
calls. - Joe B.,
