New
Tri-Town Recreation Director
...recently
approved position of Recreation
Director for the Tri-Towns of Franconia, Easton, and
Sugar Hill. Kim has been active in the Franconia Conservation
Committee, the development of the Dow Field playground,
and most recently the Dow Field Gazebo project which
she has championed. Kim has been active in
organizing this upcoming summer's concert schedule and
reports that several additional performers will be added
to the schedule that has already been posted on this
site.
Kim
further adds that plans are underway to sell the Franconia
Sports Shop on Main Street in Franconia. She is confident
that the business will find a buyer in the near future.
Kim
states, "With my son graduating this year, it's time
for me to make some changes in my life." Kim and her
husband, Tim, will continue to operate the Littleton
Athletic Department located on Main Street in Littleton.
One
project that Kim is already envisioning for the Village
is the purchasing of banners designed to create a more
attractive and welcoming presence in the village. Like
the Lupine festival banners, Kim hopes to adorn the lamp
posts with decorative flags throughout the year. Kevin
Johnson, owner of the Gale River Motel and member of
the Franconia Notch Chamber of Commerce states, "The
selection of Kim as the recreation director is terrific
for the region. Her organizational skills and her tireless
effort in getting things done will serve the town of
Franconia well. Kim has been an outstanding volunteer
community advocate and now, in her role as the recreation
director,
will be able to take those efforts to a whole new level."
