Richardson Memorial Library is located in the Town Offices Building, Main Street, Sugar Hill. The original building, erected in 1861-1862, housed a school with two rooms on the first floor for the local schoolchildren, while the town offices were located on the second floor. A fire destroyed the original structure in 1948. The present building was erected in 1949 for children in grades 1 -8. Richardson Memorial Library and the Sugar Hill Town Offices have been housed in the building beginning in 1999 until the present. Scrapbooks detailing the history of the building are available in the library. The original library building still stands today on Main Street as a private home. This building served the town of Sugar Hill from 1914 through 1999.

Included in the library’s collection are adult and children’s fiction and nonfiction books, a wide array of adult audiotapes and CDs, and children’s videos
